Thousands of people flooded the streets of Nikaia, Athens on Monday to say goodbye to Giorgos Mazonakis, one of Greece's most beloved singers, who died on September 9 after collapsing at a private medical clinic in Kolonaki. The funeral was held at the Church of Agia Triada, where heavy police presence, private security, and EKAB ambulance teams were deployed throughout the night due to the sheer scale of the crowds. Authorities have recovered a photograph from the accused doctor's phone showing Mazonakis lying on the medical bed with his eyes closed during the treatment, and investigators believe it may hold key answers about the conditions surrounding his death. His family, honoring a longstanding wish of his to help those in need, asked that instead of funeral wreaths, supporters donate to Humanity Greece. The funds raised will be used to build a mobile social kitchen.
