Greek-made products are selling cheaper in other EU countries than they are in Greece itself, according to new price comparison data from the PosoKanei platform.
The research compared prices of Greek-branded goods sold domestically versus their prices across EU markets, and the gaps are striking across multiple categories. Alpha beer sells for 2.68 euros per liter in Greece, while the same product goes for 2.12 euros per liter elsewhere in the EU. Ifantis bologna runs 9.95 euros per kilo in Greece versus 7.85 euros per kilo in EU markets.
Sliced turkey under the "En Elladi" label, a product marketed specifically as Greek, costs 21.05 euros per kilo domestically compared to 17.19 euros per kilo in the EU. The NOUNOU baby cream shows the same pattern, at 2.68 euros per kilo in Greece against 2.12 euros per kilo abroad.
The sharpest gap in the data is for FA deodorant, which costs 56.60 euros per kilo in Greece and just 39.80 euros per kilo in the EU, a difference of nearly 42 percent. Across the board, Greek consumers are paying a consistent premium for products made in their own country.
The findings add to growing pressure on Greek households already dealing with elevated prices on everyday goods. The comparison was based on publicly available retail price data from PosoKanei, a platform that tracks product costs across European markets.
