Nicholas Brandram, 44, grandson of Greek Princess Katherine of Greece and Denmark, was found dead at his London home on Tuesday, days after being released under investigation in one of Britain's most notorious cold cases. The Metropolitan Police said officers found Brandram unconscious at a residence in Chiswick, west London. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his death is being treated as sudden but not suspicious. Brandram had been arrested in June in connection with the so-called "Putney Pusher" case, a 2017 incident in which an unidentified man was caught on camera appearing to push a woman into the path of a moving bus on Putney Bridge. The woman survived only because the bus driver swerved in time. The case had gone unsolved for nearly a decade before police made their move this year. After his arrest on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, Brandram was also arrested separately on suspicion of drug possession. He had been released from custody but remained under active investigation at the time of his death. HSBC had suspended him from his role in private banking following his June arrest. Beyond his banking career, Brandram had served as a British Army captain with deployments in Iraq, Bosnia, and Afghanistan. Princess Katherine of Greece and Denmark, to whom Brandram was related through his mother's side of the Greek royal family, was a daughter of King Constantine I. Brandram was 44 years old.
