A new chocolate brand launched on Mykonos just sold out its entire first collection within 24 hours of release. The brand is called Mykonos Chocolate Co., and it was created entirely by locals from the island.
The first seasonal collection uses ingredients sourced from Greece and the Mediterranean, including figs, virgin olive oil, mastiha, anise, and premium nuts blended into high-quality chocolate. The bar designs are modeled after the cobblestone alleys of Mykonos Town, with flavors carrying names like Sunset in Chora, Pink Sand, Olive and Sea, and Party with Ouza.
Production takes place in Marathi, a village on Mykonos, inside a modern workshop housed within a traditional stone building surrounded by olive and fig trees. The team behind it says the goal was to create something that captures what visitors take home in their memories, the Aegean light, the deep blue sea, and the relaxed feel of the island.
The chocolate is already available through the brand's online shop at mykonoschocolate.com, at Flora Super Markets on the island, and at select hotels. A flagship boutique is set to open soon in Mykonos Town, signaling that the brand is eyeing international markets, not just local tourists.
The launch has drawn comparisons to Dubai Chocolate, the viral Middle Eastern confection that took social media by storm, but the Mykonos team built their product around local identity rather than chasing a trend.
