A 56-meter superyacht scraped and struck the walls of the Corinth Canal on Saturday, August 8, in footage that has been circulating widely online. The vessel, named BLUE II and estimated to be worth around $50 million, visibly struggled to fit through the narrow waterway as it made contact with the canal walls at multiple points along the transit. The video was captured by Michalis Papamanolakis for the YouTube channel "Korinthognosia" and shows the enormous yacht moving inches from the canal's sheer rock faces before repeatedly grazing them. The Corinth Canal is one of the narrowest navigable waterways in the world, with a width of just 21 meters at water level, making large vessel transits inherently difficult. At nearly 56 meters in length, BLUE II was operating with almost no clearance on either side.
