Donald Trump reshared on Truth Social a Breitbart interview with Greece's Migration Minister Thanos Plevris, posting it without comment, a gesture Plevris's camp is treating as a strong endorsement.
The Breitbart piece ran under the headline "Exclusive: Inside Greece's Migration Operations Control Center, Minister Reveals How Trump's Victory Triggered a Global Border Crackdown." Plevris sat down with the outlet inside Greece's immigration operations hub, and the interview covered his views on how Trump reshaped migration politics far beyond the United States.
Plevris told Breitbart that Trump's single greatest achievement was shifting immigration policy, and that the change rippled across Europe almost immediately. He argued that under Biden, Washington's open-border posture gave European governments political cover to do the same, but Trump's return flipped that dynamic entirely. "We had a bad policy in Europe and it happened because of the USA, not because of Europe," he said.
He pointed to Germany, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Sweden as countries that have tightened their border policies in direct response to polling pressure that, in his view, Trump helped create. Greece, he noted, already runs a strict immigration policy, though he acknowledged internal divisions at home. According to Plevris, roughly 35% of Greeks support the current policy, another 35% want it even stricter, and 30% oppose it on human rights grounds.
Breitbart framed Plevris as crediting Trump's political success for a Europe-wide turn toward harder border enforcement, an assessment Trump apparently found worth amplifying to his own audience on Truth Social with no caveats attached.
